About the Author

Mary-Anne King
Head of Environmental Sustainability, Microsoft UK

Mary-Anne is responsible for leading Microsoft’s Environment Sustainability efforts in the UK. Microsoft’s Environment activity has three priorities demonstrated through being a responsible leader, showing how technology can enable energy efficiencies and help businesses rethink their processes to reduce the impact of climate change. She feels passionately that Microsoft can help businesses and consumers in this area and was delighted to take on this role in 2008. She is currently Vice-Chair of the Intellect Climate Change Group and participates in the Business in the Community New Ways 2 work Sustainable Travel Steering Committee. 

Mary-Anne joined Microsoft in 1996 and has worked in several countries including South Africa, South East Africa and the UK. She has held various sales and marketing positions and has a MSc in Strategic Marketing Leadership. She is married with 2 children and in her spare time enjoys swimming, running and good wine.
