CLOUD EVENT 4: Cloud computing- a new dimension of telemedicine
This Microsoft-hosted workshop will examine how the use of new technologies, especially Cloud Computing can ease the path toward e-Health. The workshop will gather together important leaders in the European Medical Community as well as Health organizations involved in innovative telemedicine projects. It is being held on November 11/12 in the Microsoft Executive Briefing Centre in Brussels.
The objectives of the workshop will be to explain and share the experiences of high-level participants on the benefits and challenges that Cloud computing is bringing to e-Health.
Some of the questions to be addressed include the issues and stumbling blocks for developing Personal Health Records and how new services could address healthcare challenges such as supporting aging population with growing chronicle disease and providing new types of diagnostics and remote care. Specifically, it will hear from the European Commission on their strategy and plans for telemedicine, such as the EU project “Renewing Health’ and the recent European toolkit for telemedicine.
The workshop will address recent country-specific case studies from Western and Central Europe as well recent US trends in telemedicine.
