While living in a world of easily available mass market technology, it always strikes me how little we do with it in an interactive way to create broad awareness and collaboration on topics that will determine ours and the next generations future living conditions.
Good environmental living conditions are essential for healthy lives, competitive successful and innovative societies, and enabling our social contacts and networking. The ability to retrieve in an easy to understand and intuitive way information on air, water, soil, noise, pollution and bio-diversity indicators, at any moment, at any location where you live or want to go, has always intrigued me and pushed me to find a way to do this as my Personal contribution to a “Better World”.
With the launch of Eye On Earth V2, combining the power of the latest technologies and the availability of a wealth of environmental data and by respecting people’s mutual language in the 32 European countries, we are opening a new dimension of real-time information availability and interactive collaboration with each other. Being able to see your personal feedback and observations registered interactively on the Eye On Earth V2 Observatory, will provide all 500M+ European’s with the feeling that they have a responsible role to play and can have true impact on a “Better Climate”. This interactive citizen feedback will help problem areas surface faster and stimulate policy makers and environmental experts to potentially take faster and more adequate actions.
Blending technology and environmental information, Eye On Earth V2 is the first big step on a longer journey that impacts all 500M+ Europeans in both their professional and private lives, being able to view at any moment in time via any devise; PC, TV, Mobile Phone,… “Your BioSphere” where You Live and Work. The “My BioSphere” concept will become an integral part of people’s daily lives and will guide them to make decisions on where to go and what activities to do, like sports, leisure and potential future living.
