Cloud computing: Leading to growth and jobs creation in Central and Eastern Europe

The event “Cloud Computing: Leading to growth and jobs creation in Central and Eastern Europe” will take place in Brussels on the 6th of December 2011. It is organized by MEP Rafal TRZASKOWSKI – member of the EPP Group, in partnership with Microsoft Poland – an official partner of Polish EU Presidency.

In the morning, a debate will take place at the European Parliament in Brussels where both Rafał Trzaskowski, MEP and Ronald Zink, COO EU Affairs, Associate General Counsel, Microsoft will deliver keynotes addresses.
Then, two panel discussions will follow and discuss important topics around the economic impact of cloud computing in Central and Eastern Europe based on recent studies conducted in Ukraine, Poland, Greece and Hungary.
“The impact of Cloud computing on national competitiveness” will be discussed with Rainer Zimmermann, Head of Unit, Software & Service Architectures and Infrastructures, DG INFSO, European Commission, Bohdan, Wyżnikiewicz, Gdansk Institute for Market economy, Poland, James Wilson, Head of EU-Ukraine Business Council and Filip Lukaszewicz, from Bird&Bird LLP.
And “ICT for economic growth and societal welfare” will be discussed with Ioannis Tsoukalas, MEP, Peteris Zilgalvis, Head of Unit, ICT for Health, DG INFSO, European Commission, Piotr Sarnecki, Head of Brussels Office, Lewiatan (Polish Employers Confederation) and Katarzyna Balucka-Debska, ICT For Inclusion, DG INFSO, European Commission.
In the afternoon, Stavros Alexakis from Microsoft Greece and Tomasz Kozdryk from Microsoft Poland Public Sector will welcome you at Microsoft Cloud & Interoperability centre and will give a Demo tour.
