Safer Internet Day, organised by Insafe, will be celebrated on 9 February 2010 in more than 50 countries across the world and will this year focus on the theme “Think before you post!”

The 27 national centers of the Insafe network and partners will bring young people and adults together in local, national, and online events worldwide to promote safer and more responsible use of online technology and mobile phones, especially amongst children and young people.

To support the cause, Microsoft is organising safety outreach campaigns in more than 25 countries along with sharing results from our MSN survey highlighting the worrying gaps in teenagers internet education and how easily they are prepared to share personal information online. Results of the survey will be posted here.
The research focuses on the worrying gaps in teenagers’ internet education and how easily they are prepared to share personal information rather than being about comparing differences between young people and adults.
