Event: European e-Skills Week 2012

Technology skills are vital in driving a competitive and innovative Europe, as they provide the essential tools and knowledge for the workforce to access better jobs, enhancing overall workforce employability across sectors and functions.

The European e-Skills Week 2012 campaign highlights this growing need for skilled ICT users and professionals, and seeks to inform students, young professionals and SMEs about the range of opportunities that ICT-related jobs present. This campaign is led by the European Commission’s DG Enterprise and Industry, in coordination with DIGITAL EUROPE and the European Schoolnet.
Microsoft is delighted to be a partner for e-Skills Week 2012, and we strongly support this call for greater collaboration between industry, government & academia to prepare the next generation with skills for the jobs of the future. Among our other initiatives, Microsoft supports Project Passion, a fun initiative designed to inspire young people to create exciting communications on a theme that is at the top of all young graduates’ minds in Europe – how to win a job. Sylvie Laffarge, Director Citizenship, will represent Microsoft in the industry judging panel of the competition.
We invite you to discover or re-discover on this site, the key programmes and initiatives we are running that contribute towards this ambitious goal, and follow the conversation on Facebook and Twitter using #eskills2012.
