Microsoft just launched the Faculty Connection Regional Site for Spain, inspiring the continual advancement and improvement of technology studies that equip students with the innovative skills they need to be employable in today’s competitive job market.

The Faculty Connection portal supports educators who are preparing the next generation of innovators: developers! It gives access in spanish to a vast collection of curricula used by thousands of faculties in the Top universities in the world (1). Faculty Connection also puts relevant and applicable tools and information at the fingertips of technology educators, enabling them to teach the technologies used in business today, preparing students with real-world labs and scenarios. It hosts curriculum on topics such as Cloud Computing, Embedded Systems, Information Management (DB), Net Centric Computing, Mobile Phone Development, Operating Systems, Software Entrepreneurship, Software Engineering, and more, featuring resources that can be embedded into an existing course or taught for a full semester.

These resources are available for free to verified faculties, and often include test answers and lab results. The collection contains millions of dollars’ worth of research and curriculum resources.  One of the 2,500+ resources includes the Windows Research Kernel (WRK) which packages core Microsoft Windows XP x64/Server 2003 SP1 kernel source code with an environment for building and testing experimental versions of the Windows kernel operating system.

Curriculum materials are available mostly in English, but there is a large collection of materials that have been translated into German, Chinese, Spanish, Russian, Polish, and 17 other languages, thanks to faculties from around the world who translated and contributed their valuable resources.  State of the art visual search makes finding resources easy, providing statistics of the resources available by Computer Science area, Material Type, language, country, and grade level –  offering a preview of the item before downloading the rich resource.  All visitors are welcome to explore the Faculty Connection resources, and be the first to experience the new Kinect for Windows SDK and explore building applications that include depth sensing, human motion tracking, and voice recognition on a PC.

To learn more about the Faculty Connection and stay updated on new resources, events and technology advancements, you can subscribe to the monthly newsletter which is available in Spanish as well as French, Russian, Polish, Arabic or English.  For additional information about the Faculty Connection in Spain contact esprofesores@microsoft.com.
